They wanted ALL of their money, RIGHT AWAY …

October 4, 2006

In 2001, I made a carreer change that also changed my tax filing status from a company employee (W-2) to an independant contractor (1099). This means that I was now responsible for saving part of my income in order to make quarterly payments to the IRS. Well, I was enjoying this new income that wasn’t being taxed (yet), and all along , I had every entention of making my tax obligations. It just seemed that something would always come up that I would rather spend the money on. “I will start next month,” I would say to myself, and “next month” never got here. This went on for about five years without a word from the IRS. Then, I finally decided to do something about it, and quickly learned that I was so far into deabt to the government that I might not ever recover (penalties and interest add up FAST!). I filed my returns and tried dealing with it on my own, but I was no match for my debtors. They wanted ALL of their money, RIGHT AWAY…..and if I didn’t have it, they were going to take everything I brought in until it was paid for.

Then I surfed the web to learn more about my rights, and in doing so, I came across numerous sites were companies claiming to have the solution. I responded to a few of them and soon found myself speaking to several “used car salesman” like personalities who were promising to reduce my liabilities to “PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR”. They immediately made me uncomfortable and I was quick to end the conversations (thank god). Then I got a call from Jeff, at IRS & State Tax relief Associates. I knew instantly that he was different from the ones previous. He answered only the questions that he could respond to honestly, saving the rest for when he was familiar with my case. I decided to move foward by obtaining his services and I know now it was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I left it all up to him and his associates and they really came through. Not only did they get the levy lifted, but they negotiated a monthly installment plan that is easy for me to pay. It was honestly like a breath of fresh air. I can once again sleep through the night and focus on what it is that I do best, rather than constantly worrying about what might happen to me and my family.

If there is anyone in a similar situation, I would certainly give Jeff a call. These guys are professional, respectful, they follow up, they take pride in what they do, and best of all…..they care.

In May 2007, I rec’d horrible news from the State of Oregon; I owed more than 12K in back taxes! This was a double whammy because I had hired another company to take care of this back in Nov. 2006!

Well, not only did they drop the ball – they screwed up – BIG TIME! Jesus, I had paid these people a ton of money to screw up. They are even highly rated, so can you imagine how I must have felt. What do I do?

By luck, I just happen to google in HELP! Back taxes, ( really did write this) and Sound Tax Consulting was the third on the search engine list to come up.

I emailed and called them and within a matter of a few hours they returned my call and got to work right away.

Jeff was pleasant, efficient and very knowledgable. He was outraged that I had paid so much money to the other people and still rec’d crappy and rude service.

For a quarter of what the crappy rude service people charged, Jeff was able to take care of my situation and ALL in less than a week. I went from owing 12K to owing less than 2K and I’m able to pay the balance off in monthly payments. Can you believe this?? Even better, this situation will not tarnish my credit – that means – no leins, no garnishments, no nothing!

Question: Why the heck didn’t I find Sound Tax Consulting in the first place? JESUS! All of this drama would have been taking care of in Nov. 2006.

Thank you so much Jeff for all of your professionalism, knowledge and attention to my situation. I have already recommended your service to several people.

Continued success to you and your staff,

I had joint tax returns from 2001/2002 with my ex husband, with a debt of $15K which he had created and was responsible for under the divorce decree. The IRS didn’t care they about that – as far as they were concerned, we were both liable. Thanks to my ex’s non payment, by 2006 the debt ballooned into $23K+ with penalties and interest. The nasty letters starting arriving, including a notice of intent to levy. I had sleepless nights and worry over whether my bank accounts would be seized and emptied, and whether my credit rating would be ruined. I had come out of the marriage with virtually nothing, and here I was still tied to his financial mess.

Realizing I couldn’t deal with the IRS on my own, I started to look for help. I was referred to Sound Tax Consulting and checked the website for their services and success stories. They quickly assessed my situation and got things under control. In April 2006 we applied for innocent spouse relief and separation of the liability. Sound Tax Consulting helped me to complete the mind boggling application and walked me through the process. I was appalled to learn that my application was denied by an IRS officer who seemed to have got my case details mixed up with someone else’s! My application was appealed and it went to yet another IRS office. It was finally approved in March 2007 – I paid just over $9K and my seized refunds from previous years were only applied to my half of the debt. That was most of my savings, but I now have peace of mind. Thank goodness for Ai Ling – she was knowledgeable, professional and gracious in our dealings and helped me understand each stage of the process. She was also persistent with the bureaucratic behemoth that is the IRS. I now sleep better at night.

About nine years ago, I won a substantial amount of money in the lottery. Due to my circumstances at the time, I was not able to file and pay the taxes on that money. In addition, I thought when I received the loan from the settlement company that the taxes were taken out. I was experiencing a hardship in my life during that time, so I didn’t look into it any further. When I married my wife in 2002, we started receiving statements from the IRS saying that I owed over $100,000.00, which was based on an incorrect amount. For the first two years, my wife and I tried to deal with the IRS on our own. It was extremely stressful and we were getting no where. Although we were able to correct the amount that they were using to calculate the amount of tax owed, we couldn’t get any answers or response from them. We tried to do an offer in compromise, but the IRS went back on their verbal agreement so we were not finished. Finally, one day we saw a commercial about tax relief and we looked them up online and contacted Sound Tax Consulting. They helped us do a second offer in compromise. The offer was a success and we are finally relieved of this debt. Sound Tax Consulting were very helpful because they knew the forms to use and how to communicate with the IRS, so that we didn’t have to experience that stress. We are so happy to have this behind us. Thank you to Jeff and Ai Ling for all of your hard work! JC

I never thought that I would ever receive an IRS Tax Levy letter, but when I did in July 2007 threats to garnish my wages prompted me to turn to help immediately. I didn’t know where to turn, so I went and did an online search for help. I wanted to work with a company that was local, and it was at that time when I found Sound Tax Consulting. I found the information on their website to be very helpful and their sources of information trustworthy. Jeff and Ai Ling were an absolute pleasure to work with. They helped me tremendously through my sticky tax situation and for the work they did, their services were very affordable. In addition, I never once had to speak to an IRS agent! I highly recommend Sound Tax Consulting for all your tax needs.

I was very refreshing to deal with a company of integrity, honesty, and follow-through in my time of crisis. I found IRS Tax Relief Associates, Inc after a very bad experience with JK ….

My experience with JKH was a real nightmare. I was told that I should sign up immidiately as there was a 3 working day “free look” period and my credit card would not be run for the deposit until I gave the go ahead. Well, they did run my card after I delined their services and it was months before I ever got the money back. I might never had recieved the refund had I not had my visa card on my side fighting with me every step of the way.

AtSound Tax Consulting I was treated with respect, dealt with honestly, and at a very reasonable fee (btw less than the cost of JKH) was moved through the process of my Offer In Compromise with professionalism and with results that I am very happy with.

I had not filed my last 8 years returns and with interest and penalties was told by the IRS that I owed nearly $50,000. When Sound Tax Consulting was done I settled and paid less than $1000.

Finally I can move on with my life and I highly recommend Sound Tax Consulting. to anyone.

    Sincerely,
    Sean, Washington state.

My son had back taxes owed for several years and recently joined the Army (now in Iraq). My wife and i decided to work on getting him straighted out with the IRS and looked around for help. I called several organizations like the ones who advertise on the TV networks and was really uncomfortable with the fast talking and fast billing concepts and quick guarantees of pennies on the dollar. I searced the web and ran across Sound Tax Consulting. and Jeff LaBonte called me in short order and spent a lot of time walking me thru the process he would follow and also how he worked the payments to his company. I felt very comfortable and signed up for my son. Jeff tried to do a lot of things to help this situation including seeking some IRS focus on the fact that my son was now in the Army. The IRS did not budge and because of my sons lack of expenses he did not qualify for an offer in compromise. So now he is on a payment plan but interest and penalties are still applied. Jeff is in the process of negotiating them down but the IRS is slow at this. I pray this works out as positive as things have gone so far. I am happy that I found Sound Tax Consulting and would recommend them . Bill Miller

After not filing tax returns for many years(over twenty),I finally decided in 2008 it was time to stop living in fear and find out if I could get back into the system. I always thought I would have to file all missing returns, and would owe tens of thousnd of dollars, but in my first phone call to Jeff at Sound Tax Consulting he assured me we would probably only need to file for the past seven years. Since I was missing a few W-2 forms Jeff gathered those from the IRS and completed and filed my previosly unfiled returns. After the returns were processed, Jeff negotited an Installment agreement that gives me 60 months to repay may back taxes. I never had to talk to anyone at the IRS and am now back in the system, What a relief.
If you have unfiled returns, and live in fear of exposure like I did, I urge you to contact Sound Tax Consulting and get on with your life. Thanks Jeff for making it so easy and painless.

    Gratefully yours,

I had been on vacation trying to relax, and had received an email through my Payroll Manager letting me know that the IRS had levied my Payroll Check! My Vacation was ruined! All I could do was worry everyday of what to do. I did lots of research and settled on Sound Tax Consulting. I ultimately had a 4-day deadline to beat! I had to get paperwork done and filled in completely before my entire check was garnished. My creditors wouldn’t understand…but Sound Tax Consulting did. My Payroll Mgr. was actually routing for me to “Please get this all done in time. I don’t want to see you lose your check Jason.” And after working through the paperwork…and after Jeff worked his “magic” – my Payroll Manager confirmed she had received all that she needed and I had nothing to worry about. Her last words were, “Wow! You must have a really good tax firm! Cause he was F-A-S-T !!!” Thanks again Jeff! Jason Sims

In 2007 I was getting married and wanted to get my unfilled taxes caught up for the past few years. Once all the paper work had been done, I owed more than $25,000. I was terrified by the amount and with interest and penalties growing at an exponential rate; I knew I had to do something.
After considerable research, I went to see Jeff at Sound Tax Consulting. Jeff was very knowledgeable and was able to put my husband and me at ease. Once we decide with a plan, Jeff and his staff took care of everything. They were available every step of the way to answer our questions.
After only six months we were able to come to an agreement with the IRS. All in all, Sound Tax Consulting saved me over $20,000. I know that without their help I would have never been able to deal with the IRS and negotiate such a deal. Thank you, Jeff, Ai Ling and everyone at Sound Tax Consulting, Inc.

Sound Tax Consulting saved me scores of hours of time, worth far more than the relatively small fee they charged. When I contacted Jeff Labonte for advice I was preparing (on my own) an offer in compromise to the IRS. I would have spent an enormous amount of time preparing the offer in compromise, and all the time would have been wasted, because I did not qualify. When Jeff explained this to me I went with them. Ultimately, they arranged a repayment plan with the IRS which I can afford.

I own a business in California, and like many business owners, the economy has caused me some sleepless nights. I was already paying on an IRS Installment Agreement from a previous year when I had to come up with a substantial amount for 2007 taxes. I could not afford to pay both on time, and I knew from previous experience that I would be receiving the dreaded “Notice of Intent to Levy” if I did not pay the new taxes owed. I wanted help from someone who really knew my available options. I called JKH and TM and was not happy with their sales tactics, cost or advice. They were just too good to be true (and expensive). I’m a good salesman, and I don’t like to be sold a bill of goods. Just give me my options and I will make an intelligent decision. That’s just what Jeff and Ai Ling at Sound Tax Consulting did for me. I did not qualify for an Offer in Compromise. Jeff advised me of that soon after reviewing my information. I was able to pay a reasonable amount to the IRS, and Ai Ling was able to get the balance added to my existing payment plan without much increase in payments. The charge for their service was quite reasonable and I would highly recommend Sound Tax Consulting for anyone with an IRS problem.

I was in a terrible state after trying to manage my taxes from 2002 onwards and slipping further and further behind in back taxes and IRS late charges.
Last year I turned to Sound Tax Consulting Jeff essentially saved me from disaster and also saved me many $1000s. I am now on a repayment schedule that I can afford and I have been able to sleep much more easily.

Thank you Jeff and Ai Ling and all at Sound Tax Consulting.

About 6 years ago I became owner of a small cafe in a town of about 3,500 people. My life partner was the building owner and after 2 years I had fell behind on 2 quarterly tax payments due to a shooting in the cafe. It took a while for people to come back, as everyone knew both people involved, slowly people did come back. It did not take long for the IRS to show up over the 2 quarters. I knew a problem was about to show itself. The IRS agent was having a problem with my choice of living arrangements- I felt it was none of his business but he was pretty set on making my life hell. I was sending in my paperwork however it kept coming up missing and he would estimate it for me. Well, he was showing that I made 3 and 4 times the average I really made. By the time I proved that everything was sent it was to late and he was drowning me with crazy paperwork. It got nuts- After 3 years this agent was no longer employed by the IRS but by this time everything was so confused, some old payments were found and some were not, The interest and penalties grew to over $60,000.00. We think that all I really owed was around $8,000.00, My life was so complicated. I’m also employed by a contractor that works for the prison system. My checks were being garnished and I was almost fired due to the IRS contacting my employer daily. Then the worst thing that could happen did. A fire started during the night in the cafe, it was a total loss. I had no insurance due to the fact I was trying to catch up on the back taxes. I was even questioned by the IRS about starting the fire. Once it was proved that it really was not arson. The IRS came at me even harder, I really had nothing else for them to take but that didn’t stop them. I then heard from a kind sole that had a phone number of a company that may be-able to help me- JEFF AND AI LING FROM Sound Tax Consulting. Now after 2 years of working with them I have my life back!!! The IRS insisted on $60,000.00 and I just sent my payment of $1,200.00 to the IRS for payment in full. I don’t even want to think where I would be without them. Jeff and Ai Lang I really do owe you 2 so much- I have and will continue to put your names out there to anyone that may have a problem. Thanks again

I was at work on a Tuesday when I got an email from the hr department I opened it and could not believe my eyes. It was a levy on my wages. It was all I could do not to cry. I left work that evening went home and cried my head off the next morning I went to work and asked if I could talk to my boss so we sat down I showed him the papers that I had recieved I asked If I could have the next two days off to take care of this I also asked him for a transfer because in my mind the IRS was going to be taking most of my check how was I going to live being a single mom. So Thursday I started calling around it seemed that everyone I talked to was an operater then I called the Sound Tax Consulting Jeff had answered the phone with a really kind voice I went on to tell him about what was going on he said no worries Rachel we will get this taken care of I was still worried of course. So we got to work my deadline was Monday at noon for a release. We learned that I had unfiled taxes for four other years as well as the 42,000 of back taxes for 1999. Well I made sure and got everything he needed to him as soon as he requested it.It was the weekend now and a long and stressfull one finally Monday came at work I thought I was going to freak out Finally I got the email saying the IRS was lifting the levy I sent Jeff an email saying YOU GUYS ROCK then called and emailed the hr department and asked If she got it she said yes I was so happy. Then I went out back and started to jump around and scream a little I was so happy that finally it was done. All I can say is that Jeff does not sugar coat anything he tells you how it is and tells you what he is going to do AND HE GETS IT DONE….Thank you so much. I’m going to tell everyone about you for many many years…. no stress in Portland

I had originally gotten a tax lawyer to help with my multiple year back taxes. I had to pay them up front, and also pay them a “monthly maintenance fee”. I had sent my w-2 forms to them for (and was charged for that service) a couple of years that was not filed. Was told that they would get back to me and we could proceed from there. They never did, and then in Janurary of 2010, I received notification from IRS that this company was no longer representing me. I had a rather large amount of taxes, and while searching the internet, came across Sound Tax Consulting, and put in a call to them. Mr. Jeff Labonte took my call, and after briefly talking with him, he advised me. He pointed me in the right direction and now I’ll be able to have a life again, no leins, no garishments, no anything bad, which is a good thing! His professionalism is a credit to a industry which I feel now is being run by people wanting to take your money and run. PLEASE, PLEASE call Mr. Labonte BEFORE you call anyone else that claims they will take all the pressure off of you, and charging you an enormous amount of MONEY! You owe that to yourself!!! I would recommend Mr. Labonte’s services to ANYONE with ANY type of tax problem. Thanks for letting me tell you this.

I made the biggest mistake of my life using X & X BxxxK online tax preparing services even with their expert help and guaranties. I paid out over $50,000.00 in State and Federal taxes in 2007 and owed about the same for 2008. I wasn’t able to pay 2008 due to the losses incurred by the bank failures and all my stock being liquidated due to unanswered margin calls. I spent the following year trying every type of loan application only to be turned down everywhere when one day it happened. our joint checking account had been wiped out. every account had been levied including a savings account my wife had opened for our grandson. The State tax office took $315.00 from a five year old! My last resort was to try to make a deal with the government to satisfy their demands and get them out of my life. I surfed the web and the first attempt at finding help was with Sound Tax Consulting. Within the hour a received a call from Jeff who explained the whole process to me in such a calm and re-assuring voice that put me at ease right from the beginning. after faxing all the copies of my tax returns for the past two years i received a call from Jeff with the most shocking and exciting news of my life. It seemed that my returns for both years were done incorrectly and I actually overpaid for 2007 and was entitled to a return for 2008. from what seemed like a $50,000.00 tax liability I was going to receive over $100,000.00 IN RETURNS! You can best believe all my prayers have been answered thanks to Jeff and Ai Ling and they’ll be the ones doing all my returns from now on.
